VASECTOMY REVERSAL

A VASECTOMY REVERSAL is a surgical procedure performed to restore fertility by reconnecting the ends of the severed vas deferens.  There are various approaches to restoring the passage of sperm through the urethra which your urologist will determine at the time of surgery.  The procedure is generally performed in an out-patient setting and with general anesthesia.  The recovery from a vasectomy reversal is relatively quick.  Most patients are able to return to a normal routine within a week.  Heavy physical activity or strenuous work should be limited for two to three weeks.  It can be expected to take approximately one year to achieve pregnancy.
